For many people, paranormal investigation touches on deep questions of faith. Our team approaches this part of the work with sincerity and respect. Whatever your beliefs, taking a moment to prepare yourself spiritually and emotionally can help you stay calm, focused, and grounded.

Why we pray. At Jaks Paranormal, prayer is part of how we begin and end our work. On our About page, you'll find the Saint Michael prayer of protection and our Investigator's Prayer. These prayers express what matters to us: asking for protection, guidance, and wisdom, and dedicating our work to helping others. They remind us that we aren't there to chase thrills — we're there to serve.

Preparing before an investigation. A simple routine before entering the location helps the team settle in and focus. This might include:

  • Gathering as a team for a moment of quiet

  • Offering a prayer of protection, such as the Saint Michael prayer

  • Stating your purpose: to seek answers and help the family

  • Reminding each other of the team rules and the plan for the night

Respecting every belief. Not every investigator or client shares the same faith, and that's okay. Never pressure anyone to join in prayer. Some team members may prefer a quiet moment of reflection instead. If a client has their own faith traditions, ask how they'd like you to honor them. If they would like their own pastor, priest, or faith leader involved, welcome that.

Staying grounded during the investigation. Spiritual protection isn't only about words spoken at the start. It's also about how you conduct yourself throughout the night: calmly, respectfully, and without provoking. Fear and anger tend to spread through a group. Peace and steadiness spread too.

Closing an investigation. How you end matters just as much as how you begin. When the investigation is over:

  1. Gather the team together in one place.

  2. Account for every person and every piece of equipment.

  3. Offer a closing prayer, such as our Investigator's Prayer, or a moment of reflection.

  4. Politely and respectfully state that the investigation is over.

  5. Thank the client for their trust and let them know what happens next.

Taking care of yourself afterward. Investigations can be emotionally heavy, especially when families are hurting. Talk with your teammates about the night. Rest. If something stays on your mind, pray about it or talk with someone you trust.

When to seek more help. Sometimes a family's situation calls for help beyond what an investigation team can offer. If a family is in spiritual distress, encourage them to reach out to their own faith leader. If someone is struggling with their mental or physical health, gently encourage them to see a professional. Knowing when to refer is part of caring well.

Faith and careful investigation are not opposites. For our team, prayer keeps us humble and protected, and good methods keep us honest. Together, they help us seek answers and find truth.
